Stained Glass Artist  Ramona, Biography
My name is Ramona.  I am a creative soul trapped in the 9 to 5 work-a-day world.  Although I have had snippets of freedom thanks to a generous husband or two (however short-lived) - I used my freedom to learn and soar.  Whether it was gardening, violin lessons, oil and acrylic painting, crafting stained glass, writing, or whatever creative endeavor that came my way, I seized the opportunity.  Realizing that life is comprised of twists and turns, planned and unplanned (i.e. I was married to a man named Tom and I lived in a green house and I had three dogs and drove a yellow car - then one day I woke up and I was married to a man named Neal and I lived in a condo and I had one dog and I drove a blue car… and then one day - I woke up and I was married to another man named Tom and I lived in a brown house, I had two dogs and I drove a silver car - anyway you get the picture.)  The only consistent thing in all of this was me.  Now I am striving to wake up in a creative place, which is real and true to me.  The crafting of glass, the mesmerizing color and the magic of the light combine like a sweet symphony to satisfy the spirit, lift the heart and inspire the soul.

I am overjoyed to partner in my new venture with an inspired and imaginative young woman, Jenny, who you have met or will meet on this website.

Please enjoy the visually delightful stained glass creations of the women of Cabbage Palm Glass …and of course, feel free to shop.

Stained Glass Artist Jenny Stuart, Biography

When I’m not playing with my two year old daughter, making a meal or cleaning the house, I’m working on glass.

As a freshman in high school I could barely draw a stick figure.  By the time I graduated as an AP art student I was completely bored with drawing and painting.  I was good at it mostly, but my heart was never in it.  Then, I attended a home taught stained glass class and was hooked.

Because of my art education, I can design my own patterns.  This allows me the freedom to create from my imagination and ideas.  I have never felt disappointed with any glass project like I did while painting.  Glass is my true medium, for sure!

My style is mostly contemporary.  I enjoy designs that are original, fun and sometimes unusual.  Color, color, color, is the main ingredient.

I was born in Sarasota, FL on December 14, where I currently reside.  I am very happily wed to a wonderful Scotsman.  We have a beautiful daughter together who is not yet two years old.  We also share our home with four cats, Ernie, Dooley, Fisher and Turbo, and one big puppy dog, Moose.

My favorite foods are pickles, raw oysters and ribeye steak.  My weekly TV privileges allow me an episode or two of Iron Chef America and Dirty Jobs, which I thoroughly enjoy.  I can also devour a novel a couple times a week.  I completely adore Doris Day and want to be her when I grow up.  Bruce Springsteen is my favorite music artist, right now anyway.  My second choice for husband is either Kevin Spacey or Gary Oldman.

And now, a poem to live by…

Put Something In

Draw a crazy picture,
Write a nutty poem,
Sing a mumble-grumble song,
Whistle through your comb.
Do a loony-goony dance
‘Cross the kitchen floor,
Put something silly in the world
That ain’t been there before.
