Stained Glass Artist Jenny Stuart, Biography
When I’m not playing with my two year old daughter, making a meal or cleaning the house, I’m working on glass.
As a freshman in high school I could barely draw a stick figure. By the time I graduated as an AP art student I was completely bored with drawing and painting. I was good at it mostly, but my heart was never in it. Then, I attended a home taught stained glass class and was hooked.
Because of my art education, I can design my own patterns. This allows me the freedom to create from my imagination and ideas. I have never felt disappointed with any glass project like I did while painting. Glass is my true medium, for sure!
My style is mostly contemporary. I enjoy designs that are original, fun and sometimes unusual. Color, color, color, is the main ingredient.
I was born in Sarasota, FL on December 14, where I currently reside. I am very happily wed to a wonderful Scotsman. We have a beautiful daughter together who is not yet two years old. We also share our home with four cats, Ernie, Dooley, Fisher and Turbo, and one big puppy dog, Moose.
My favorite foods are pickles, raw oysters and ribeye steak. My weekly TV privileges allow me an episode or two of Iron Chef America and Dirty Jobs, which I thoroughly enjoy. I can also devour a novel a couple times a week. I completely adore Doris Day and want to be her when I grow up. Bruce Springsteen is my favorite music artist, right now anyway. My second choice for husband is either Kevin Spacey or Gary Oldman.
And now, a poem to live by…
Put Something In
Draw a crazy picture,
Write a nutty poem,
Sing a mumble-grumble song,
Whistle through your comb.
Do a loony-goony dance
‘Cross the kitchen floor,
Put something silly in the world
That ain’t been there before.
